Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with FableSense AI in 5 minutes

1

Create Your First Project

Projects help you organize related research. Each project can contain multiple documents, datasets, visualizations, and analyses.

Go to your dashboard after signing in
Click "Create Project"
Give your project a name (e.g., "User Research Study 2025")
Add a description (optional)
💡 Tip: If this is your first time, try our demo project to explore features with sample data!
2

Upload Qualitative Data

Qualitative data includes interviews, field notes, open-ended survey responses, or any text-based content.

Click "Documents" in the sidebar
Click "Upload Document"
Choose a .txt, .docx, or .pdf file (or paste text directly)
Give it a title and click "Upload"
📄 Supported formats: .txt, .docx, .pdf, or manual text entry
3

Code Your Data

Coding is the process of tagging text segments with descriptive labels (codes) to identify themes and patterns.

Open a document from your documents list
Click "Create Code" to add a new theme (e.g., "User Frustration")
Select text in your document that represents this theme
Click the code to apply it—the text will be highlighted
Repeat for other themes and text segments
💡 Pro tip: Start with 3-5 broad codes, then refine as patterns emerge. You can always add more codes later!
4

Upload Quantitative Data

Quantitative data includes survey responses, measurements, statistics, or any numerical data in spreadsheet format.

Click "Datasets" in the sidebar
Click "Upload Dataset"
Choose a CSV or Excel file (.xlsx, .xls)
Preview your data and click "Upload"
📊 Data tips: First row should contain column headers. Keep it clean—remove merged cells and formatting.
5

Create Visualizations

Turn your quantitative data into charts to identify patterns and trends.

Open a dataset from your datasets list
Click "Create Visualization"
Choose a chart type (bar, line, scatter, pie, etc.)
Select columns for X and Y axes
Customize colors, labels, and filters
📈 Chart guide: Bar charts for comparisons, line charts for trends over time, scatter plots for relationships between variables.
6

Discover Connections

This is where the magic happens! Create correlations and joint displays to merge your qualitative and quantitative findings.

Click "Correlations" in the sidebar
Click "Create Correlation Analysis"
Select your qualitative codes (themes) and quantitative variables
Choose a visualization type (integration matrix, network, side-by-side)
Explore connections and patterns between your data types
🧠 Example: Discover if users who mentioned "frustration" in interviews also gave low satisfaction scores in surveys!

You're Ready to Go! 🎉
